The Hellyer Regional Collective is a connected community of schools supporting students in Years 11 and 12 across North-West Tasmania. This collaborative network includes:

• Hellyer College
• Burnie, Parklands, Smithton, and Wynyard High Schools
• King Island, Mountain Heights, Penguin, Rosebery, and Yolla District Schools

As a community, we provide access to a wide range of subjects and programs delivered across multiple school sites. To ensure all students can participate fully, we offer support with transport, materials, and scheduling. Many students have a shared enrolment, allowing them to personalise their learning across different locations.

In 2026, we are strengthening our focus on partnerships with local communities and expanding the use of established networks to ensure that every student--regardless of where they live--has access to meaningful, future-focused learning opportunities. Our community of schools is committed to equity, inclusion, and student success.
Students can pursue a variety of pathways, including:

• University and higher education
• Apprenticeships and traineeships
• Employment in local industries such as tourism, retail, agriculture, and community services

We work closely with industry partners, community organisations, government agencies, and education providers to ensure our programs reflect the evolving needs of the region and the goals of our students.

Our shared efforts have led to a steady increase in the number of students successfully achieving their Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).
